Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may have avoided attending Oprah Winfrey's star-studded birthday celebration for one essential reason.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are known to be friendly with the media mogul, but they are not present at Oprah's birthday bash.
"I have to be honest, I've interviewed Oprah numerous times over the years, starting when she initially broke into the national stage in the 1980s," royal novelist and commentator Christopher Andersen said. "If Oprah is anything, it is loyal."
Christopher detailed it to Showbiz Cheat Sheet. "I believe people are putting much more much into this alleged snub than they should.
"My view of the issue is that both Oprah and the Sussexes recognise that this is a very delicate time for Harry and Meghan as we approach King Charles' coronation." Attending such a flashy, high-profile gala honouring Oprah with Hollywood A-listers is not what the Sussexes need right now.
"That would undoubtedly irritate King Charles, not to mention an already hostile British populace. "I'm sure Harry and Meghan are still on good terms and are keeping the entire Oprah/H&M issue under wraps," the expert continued.
