Buckingham Palace has released a crucial update on King Charles III's wife Queen Camilla's health, as she withdraws from another key royal function at the eleventh hour.
The 77-year-old's supporters are concerned about her health after hearing devastating news about the Queen, who skipped the Royal Variety Performance on Friday night.
A representative for the Palace said: "Following a recent chest illness, The Queen continues to have some residual post-viral symptoms, as a result of which physicians have advised that, following a full week of engagements, Her Majesty should prioritize adequate rest.
"With great sadness, she has withdrawn from tonight's Royal Variety Performance. His Majesty will attend as scheduled."
Camilla did not attend the Field of Remembrance at Westminster Abbey on November 7 or the Olympic and Paralympic athletes' banquet at Buckingham Palace that evening.
A doctor has revealed the intricacies of the ailment, describing what a chest infection is.
On Reddit, one user questioned if they had a bacterial chest infection or pneumonia, to which a pulmonary physician responded that they could be asking the incorrect question.
"'Bacterial chest infection' is not a diagnosis, but rather a descriptive term.
Bacteria can infect either your lungs (pneumonia) or your airways (bacterial bronchitis). To make matters more complicated, both have viral and non-infectious causes.
A chest infection is characterized by a chesty cough, which may include green or yellow mucus, wheezing and shortness of breath, chest pain or discomfort, a high temperature, aching muscles, and fatigue.
It is worth noting that the King and Queen recently made a quick stay in India's holistic wellness center after their tour to Australia and Samoa.
According to many sources, the pair "underwent therapeutic yoga, rejuvenative treatment, which also included meditation and therapies" while adhering to a strict vegetarian diet rich in eggs.
