Moviegoers are eagerly awaiting the Wicked sequel after being blown away by Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo's performances in the recently released blockbuster.
However, fans now have a date to look forward to: the official Wicked Movie account on X, previously Twitter, stated that the sequel will be published on November 21st, 2025.
The two-part feature film is based on the long-running and popular Broadway and West End musical.
Fans have given Wicked rave reviews, with many saying they left the theater in tears.
One admirer posted on X, "I was bawling... I'll never get over Cynthia and Ariana."
Another echoed the feeling, saying, "This broke me!" "I'll never be the same."
A third person said, "This had me tearing up, they ate this so bad, I want part 2 NOW."
This comes after the film's director, Jon M. Chu, spoke with GamesRadar+ about the challenge of recreating a huge song, Defying Gravity, on screen.
"To be honest, the alternative wasn't possible. We attempted to put it into a single film, but you had to cut off songs, and it became less Wicked. "They had tried for 20 years to do that," the 45-year-old said.

The filmmaker stated, "The audience is more cynical in a movie, so the emotional twists for the performers and the characters must be really strong. So it was more out of need than anything else."
