Denzel Washington, well known for his performance in Malcolm X, revealed what's next for his acting career.
During an interview with HuffPost, the actor from Fences revealed what his "final role" will be.
"I would say either Othello or King Lear would be my final performances once I decide to step away," he told me.
"I started with Othello when I was 22 years old and am now 70 years old and doing it on Broadway. I believe I understand him better now. "I know I understand him better now," he added. "It's a great role, challenging, but I love challenging roles."
"I've been speaking with several amazing filmmakers, so I'm not done yet. I have a five- and twenty-year plans. "I have seven more films to produce for August Wilson," he stated.
During the conversation, Washington discussed "what fuels his commitment to topics based on justice and human dignity" in relation to his Gladiator II character, Macrinus.
"This character isn't so nice, he does have an element of justice and how he likes to convey justice with the actions that he does."
The actor co-stars with Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal, Joseph Quin, and Connie Nielsen in Ridley Scott's epic Gladiator sequel.
Gladiators II was released in theaters on November 15, 2024.
