Meghan Markle's highly anticipated lifestyle brand may take longer to launch than planned, as her team has filed a trademark registration extension.
Initially soft-launched in March under the moniker American Riviera Orchard, the company offered buyers a sneak peek at an amazing range of products, possibly including jams and other lifestyle items.
However, despite early enthusiasm and a waiting list for updates, the endeavor has encountered a number of obstacles, delaying its formal launch and prohibiting it from trading at the moment.
Fans of the Duchess will have to wait a bit longer for her line to hit the market.
The US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) denied her original application in September, citing "American Riviera" as a prevalent term for Santa Barbara.
After their application was denied, the Sussexes' office reacted, claiming that such obstacles are "routine and expected" when pursuing trademark registrations.
They stated that an official answer would be sent in due time.
With the initial three-month deadline approaching, Meghan's legal team has requested an extra three-month extension to address the matter.
Following a limited launch in March that included a polished video and a website with a waiting list for excited followers, the brand has yet to properly debut.
