Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are said to have spent millions on a gorgeous new residence in Portugal, hinting that their American life was not as they had hoped.
According to an insider and former palace staffer, the couple spent a stunning £3.6 million for a villa in the exclusive CostaTerra Golf and Ocean Club, sometimes known as the "Hamptons of Portugal."
Their new home, located barely an hour south of Lisbon between Comporta and Melides, is near to a property held by Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank.
Grant Harrold, King Charles' former personal butler, speculated that the action indicates the Sussexes are "edging their way back in the direction of the UK."
Harrold reflected on their experiences in America, saying, "There are so many people who move away and then return, so I don't think it would be unusual for Harry and Meghan to leave the US for Europe."
"Maybe living in the States wasn't what they thought it would be, and that could be why they're now supposedly edging their way back in the direction of the UK," he told me.
He highlighted that the couple's entrepreneurial endeavors, notably Meghan's planned brand launch, could be pursued from anywhere in the world.
Meghan is preparing to formally launch her lifestyle company, 'American Riviera Orchard,' which will include jams, dog biscuits, homewares, and culinary tools.
