Prince William and Kate Middleton are anxious about a new setback after details of an incident were leaked to the media.
The Prince and Princess of Wales nearly survived a security breach at their Adelaide Cottage last week, when two masked men stormed into Windsor Castle.
While the heir to the throne and his family were not in immediate danger, William and Kate are dissatisfied with way the situation was not handled within the Palace grounds, according to veteran BBC royal journalist Jennie Bond.
"This was a farm break-in, not an attempt to get into a royal home," Bond told OK! magazine.
She stated that, while it is unfortunate that "farm break-ins are rife at the moment," the occurrence itself did not "unduly alarm" anyone.
However, the Waleses were concerned that the specifics of the event had been publicized in the newspapers, posing a larger security danger to the royals."
"Over the years, there have been so many incidents far more serious than this," Mr. Bond added. "So, it just goes with the territory and I think William and Catherine are perfectly aware of that."
She went on: "They probably would have preferred this incident to remain private as there are always copycats around who get daft ideas when they see that something like this has happened."
According to The Sun, two attackers broke into Windsor Castle and stole farm vehicles.
While security alarms are in place, the crime was detected when the masked guys broke past the gate that William and his family frequently use.
