'Wicked' director Jon M Chu reveals key facts regarding the movie's second chapter.

 

Wicked filmmaker Jon M Chu has revealed key facts regarding the second portion of the film, which will be released next year.

In a new interview with Variety, Jon outlined how he planned to keep the film's momentum running until 2025.

"I don't know, but 'Part Two,' I will say because I've cut 'Part Two' together, is a doozy," the film's director stated.

Jon said, "You are getting the meat. I didn't know where we'd be in society right now."

"It becomes eight times more significant than before when discussing truth and the repercussions of making the correct or wrong decision. He said, "It's intense."

Interestingly, the first half of the film drew mixed reviews from reviewers.

According to one critic from The Independent, "Wicked looks like every other film now." That is the problem. It may be a cinematic version of the stage musical, which is based on a 1995 novel, but it also has moments that are reminiscent of the famous 1939 musical The Wizard of Oz."

Another reviewer at NME said, "Wicked flags a little in the middle, but not enough to dampen a dramatic climax in which Elphaba and Glinda travel to Oz to meet the fabled Wonderful Wizard (Jeff Goldblum)."

"Jeff and Michelle Yeoh sell their brief musical numbers on twinkly charisma, but Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande are both vocally extraordinary," it said.

Meanwhile, the second installment of Wicked is set to arrive on November 21, 2025.
