Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice may encounter unforeseen hurdles in inheriting Royal Lodge as a result of King Charles' financial constraints on their father, Prince Andrew.
As Charles presses for cost-cutting measures, including a demand that Andrew quit his Royal Lodge house, doubts mount over the property Andrew planned to leave to his children.
Real estate specialist Terry Fisher from We Buy Any Home points out potential barriers, claiming that "Andrew's long lease, reportedly lasting 75 years, shows that he's invested significantly in Royal Lodge, giving him strong occupancy rights."
However, royal leases sometimes come with succession restrictions, particularly for non-working family members.
"In other words, while Andrew has substantial rights under the lease, he may still face limitations in passing it on to family without special permissions," Fisher tells me.
Furthermore, the hefty maintenance and security requirements may create a significant financial load on Andrew, making it difficult to retain residency at Royal Lodge in the long run.
