Roger Nores, Liam Payne's close friend and Argentinian businessman, has indicated that he appears to have had no involvement in the One Direction star's terrible death.
Nores is one of five persons being investigated in connection with the singer's death on October 16th, which occurred when he fell from the third story balcony of his hotel in Argentina.
Argentine authorities accused the businessman of leaving Liam Payne before his death, but Nores insisted that Payne was "playful, happy, and fine" when he left him.
"He was in good spirits, he was talking to 10 or 15 Americans that were here for a wedding," TMZ reports that he said.
"He was perfectly poised, talking to everyone, having fun, and laughing; nothing out of the norm. So that's when I said 'bye,'" Nores added.
"He appeared lively and joyful. I visited the motel three times to check on him. He appeared tipsy but not out of the usual."
However, eyewitnesses stated that Payne was not "coherent" and looked to be inebriated.
This comes after authorities discovered a text message reportedly sent by the late artist asking Nores whether he could buy him narcotics. The reported text said, "Can you get 6 grams?"
Four additional persons affiliated with Payne and the CasaSur hotel are also under investigated.
