Meghan Markle may use Hollywood's biggest night to promote her new Netflix series With Love, Meghan, according to public relations gurus.
The Duchess of Sussex's lifestyle program premieres on March 4, and industry sources feel her attending the 2025 Oscars would send a strong message about her comeback to entertainment.
Lynn Carratt, a public relations specialist, told Sportsbook Review that Meghan's appearance on the Oscars red carpet, particularly unaccompanied, would "make a statement" about her independence from the royal family and concentration on growing her image.
"It would show that not only is she focused on building her own brand away from the Royals, especially if she attends solo," says Carrat, "but make a statement that she has every intention of reinserting herself back into the world of entertainment in a nod to her past life."
The Academy allegedly invited Meghan and Prince Harry to attend last year's ceremony, but they declined. However, with her new project on the horizon, Carratt feels the timing is perfect.
"The Academy Awards red carpet could be the perfect place for Meghan to plug her latest project," she remarked, noting that many of her A-list colleagues from her acting days are participating in the program.
The Duchess first postponed With Love, Meghan out of respect for people affected by the horrific Los Angeles wildfires.
The series will feature celebrity guests such as Mindy Kaling, Roy Choi, and Alice Waters, as well as Meghan's own culinary and gardening skills.
