Samsung is apparently working on the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7, which are slated to be released in mid-July as the company's next generation of foldable smartphones. According to a fresh rumor from a South Korean magazine, Samsung is also working on a new 'Galaxy G Fold' smartphone with a revolutionary form factor that the firm has previously hinted. This device might compete with trifold smartphones such as the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Edition.
Samsung Galaxy G Fold Could Have a Separate External Display
According to industry insiders, Samsung is developing a new "double-folding" foldable phone. The 'Samsung Galaxy G Fold' handset is rumored to be in development with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. The business will allegedly buy parts for the new cellphone in April, and it may be released with the company's future book-style and clamshell-style foldable phones.
Samsung will not be the first business to debut a double-folding device with a three-panel inner display; the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Edition, the first commercially available tri-fold smartphone, was released last year. However, Samsung may not adopt the same S-style folding design for the speculated device.
According to the source, Samsung might use a G-style folding design rather than a foldable display that bends in the shape of an S, like Huawei's smartphone does. If this allegation is correct, all three panels of the 9.96-inch inner screen will be buried when the gadget is folded.
As a result, the phone would need a separate outward-facing screen for the cover display. This is supposed to be the identical outer screen that Samsung wants to utilize on the Galaxy Z Fold 7. It measures 6.49 inches. Samsung has previously demonstrated tri-fold screens, but has yet to create a commercial version based on these prototypes.
While the story implies that Samsung is finally preparing to unveil a competition to Huawei's Mate XT Ultimate Edition, readers should moderate their expectations. The business already released the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold SE in South Korea and China, and the future Galaxy G Fold may also be accessible in select markets. According to the report, Samsung would only make roughly 2 lakh devices to test consumer response before considering a broader distribution.
