The departure of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle from the royal family has called into doubt King Charles' ambition to cut down the monarchy.
For the uninitiated, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex retired from their top royal positions in 2020.
Since their departure from the UK, the couple's relationship with the royals has deteriorated due to their unacceptable remarks against important members of the Firm.
Despite Harry and Meghan's difficulties, the royals may have felt their absence, especially given King Charles and Princess Kate's illness diagnoses.
Sir Trevor, a journalist for the UK Saga, highlighted the royal family's loss as a result of the Megxit.
He went on: "And not only because his presence would give them strength in numbers; the past year has exposed just how 'slimmed down' the monarchy has become, with both the King and the Princess of Wales taking time out for cancer treatment."
Sir Trevor praised the Duke of Sussex, saying he was "unfailingly friendly, honest, and genuine" like his mother, the late Princess Diana.
According to the royal expert, Meghan might have added a fresh dimension to the monarchy... She was never given the opportunity to prove herself.
