Anthony Mackie is feeling the Marvel magic all over again—and he thinks fans are ready to feel it too.
In a recent interview with IGN, Mackie discussed his enthusiasm for Avengers: Doomsday, a highly anticipated movie that will reach cinemas on May 1, 2026.
And, according to him, it's more than just another superhero film; it's a full-fledged homage to the Marvel Cinematic Universe's golden age.
“We’re supposed to go out this week, and we’ll be out there doing it,” Mackie added, adding to the hype about the project. "Everybody is excited. I think the screenplay and having the Russo brothers back would be fantastic."
That's a confidence boost fans can get behind, especially with the Russo Brothers, who directed Infinity War and Endgame, back at the lead.
Mackie, who just played Sam Wilson in Captain America: Brave New World in February, couldn't contain his excitement.
"I'm incredibly thrilled about what this project will be. It'll offer the audience the nostalgic Marvel experience they've always enjoyed."
What about the cast? Simply put, Marvel isn't holding back.
Oh, as if that wasn't enough nostalgia, Robert Downey Jr. will return—but with a twist.
This time, he plays the villain, Victor Von Doom. That's correct, Iron Man is replacing his arc reactor with something a little more... evil.
The film is also bringing in some major stars from Marvel's X-Men universe.
Before Doomsday hits the big screen, Marvel will keep fans satisfied with two major releases in 2025: Thunderbolts on May 2 and The Fantastic Four: First Steps on July 25.
