iPhone 17 Air Spotted in Leaked Hands-on Video; Appears to be Slimmer Than the iPhone 16 Pro

 

The iPhone 17 Air is rumored to be in development and might be Apple's thinnest iPhone model yet. The rumored iPhone model that will replace the iPhone 16 Plus is scheduled to be released in September, with the basic iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. Another iPhone 17 series dummy film has been released, providing a new look at their looks. When compared to other iPhone 17 models, like the iPhone 16 Pro, the iPhone 17 Air seems slim. It looks to feature a single camera in the upper left corner of the back panel.

AppleTrack's Sam Kohl has produced an eight-minute YouTube video displaying dummy devices of the rumored iPhone 17 series. The hands-on video summarizes the rumored specifications of the iPhone 17 series, citing numerous rumors and leaks. It supports previous allegations regarding the design of the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max.

The video displays the iPhone 17 Air with a slim shape and a single rear camera unit. The phone features a broad, Pixel-like camera bar. The YouTuber compares the iPhone 17 Air to the iPhone 16 Pro, claiming that the new model is roughly half as thick while still featuring a huge 6.6-inch display.

Kohl also offers thinner buttons for the iPhone 17 Air. It offers the same Camera Control as last year's iPhone 16 Pro versions. The video demonstrates the off-center USB Type-C port, which is located closer to the back of the phone than the front. It has fewer speaker holes at the bottom border.

The iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max variants include a redesigned camera island. The camera module is more prominent and spans the whole width of the phone. They look to have three back camera units. The configuration of the flash and LiDAR sensor has changed, and Kohl believes the third telephoto sensor on the iPhone 17 Pro series will also shift.

According to Kohl, these fake devices do not reveal any of the rumored improvements, such as a redesigned MagSafe cutout, a unibody design, or aluminum sides replacing the Titanium construction of the existing Pro versions. However, he claims that this could be due to the way the dummies were built or the schematics on which they are based.

The iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max are believed to have 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch screens, similar to the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, respectively. Their button layouts and Dynamic Island notch are identical to their predecessors. Finally, the regular iPhone 17 is reported to maintain the recognizable design language of the iPhone 16.
