The iPhone 17 Air might launch alongside the standard iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max variants later this year, and fake units of the rumored smartphone have emerged online once more. A recent video demonstrated the Air variant's slimmer profile compared to other variants. The leaked photographs of iPhone 17 series dummy devices provide another glimpse into how small the phone may be. Leaked information regarding the alleged phone, including major features and estimated dimensions, has lately surfaced on social media networks.
iPhone 17 Air Dimensions & Specifications (Expected)
According to leaked photographs of iPhone 17 series dummy units released on X (previously Twitter) by Sonny Dickson (@SonnyDickson), the rumored iPhone 17 Air will be far slimmer than its contemporaries in the next lineup. The photos depict the left, right, and bottom margins of all four versions.
The iPhone 17 Air is the thinnest model in the series, with just enough room for the USB Type-C connector and side buttons. It's been tipped to be 5.65mm at its thinnest point. The handset appears to be taller than the basic and iPhone 17 Pro variants. The top-tier iPhone 17 Pro Max model seems to be the largest and thickest of the group.
Due to its reduced slimness, the iPhone 17 Air is believed to have a smaller battery and a single rear camera unit. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes it will include 12GB of RAM, same to the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max models.
According to Kuo, Apple is contemplating releasing the basic iPhone 17 with 12GB of RAM as well. Concerns about "potential supply shortages" may prompt the business to equip it with 8GB of RAM. The corporation plans to make a final decision on the topic in May.
The expert also said that all models in the upcoming iPhone 18 range, which isn't due until the second half of 2026, will most likely have 12GB of RAM. This change is likely owing to "intensifying competition in the smartphone market," he said.
Earlier rumors said that the iPhone 17 Air will include a 6.6-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 24-megapixel front sensor, and a 48-megapixel single back camera. The device is rumored to be powered by an A18 or A19 chipset, with a titanium frame and a price range of $1,299 to $1,500.
