Jason Momoa is riding high on a massive box office wave, and he's bringing all of the aloha with him.
The Aquaman actor is celebrating the massive success of A Minecraft Movie, which has officially become the largest opening weekend for a video game adaptation in history.
Yes, even bigger than the Super Mario Bros. film.
"Aloha to my fantastic cast and crew! Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication. "We have a record-breaking film, baby!!!" Momoa, 45, gushed on Instagram on Wednesday, April 9.
He accompanied the celebratory tweet with a slideshow of images of the ensemble, clearly soaking in the blockbuster vibe.
Momoa expressed his appreciation, thanking director Jared Hess (yep, the guy behind Napoleon Dynamite and Nacho Libre) and the whole New Zealand crew.
"Cheeeeeeeoooooo! I cannot express how proud I am of this project. "Mahalo New Zealand for our amazing crew and all of their hard work," he said, full of island spirit.
Co-star Danielle Brooks, 35, was also surprised—and thrilled—by the film's soaring launch, especially after discovering that it outperformed Barbie's $162 million opening.
"Much love to all the fans and to my family!!"
Also featuring Jack Black and Emma Myers. A Minecraft Movie features Garrett "The Garbage Man" Garrison (Momoa), Henry (Sebastian Hansen), Natalie (Myers), and Dawn (Brooks), four everyday people coping with ordinary issues, until a portal changes everything.
Suddenly, they find themselves in Overworld with Steve (Black), an excellent craftsman. And in order to return home, they must do more than simply survive; they must also be creative.
