Jennifer Aniston has taken an innovative approach to dealing with her lifelong phobia of flying.
In a new interview with Travel + Leisure, published on April 17, the Friends star spoke up about her "extreme fear of flying" and how she is now finding comfort via hypnotherapy.
"I have been doing some hypnosis lately, and one of the requirements is to remove all of those superstitions," she told me. "I have not been doing the right hand, right foot — and now it's shockingly good!"
Aniston, 56, used to rely on routines like touching the exterior of the plane with her right hand and hopping on board with her right foot. However, she claims that those practices are now behind her.
Instead, after the plane takes off, she relaxes with meditation.
Along with her efforts to overcome her phobia of flying, Aniston has acknowledged to trying to improve her packing skills. "You just don't know where you're going to be on a certain day, or what mood you're going to be in," she told me.
Aniston's phobia of flying was tested in 2019 when a plane carrying her and Courteney Cox lost a wheel after takeoff. The group landed safely, but the trauma was definitely present.
