Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who resigned their senior royal roles in 2020 to pursue independent lives in the United States, established the Archewell Foundation to continue their charity efforts.
However, on Friday, the foundation sent a severe statement after making the startling choice to lose a crucial partner.
"At the Archewell Foundation, our motto is Show Up, Do Good. The statement added, "Our values are an extension of those of our founders, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex."
"We provide money and grant assistance to people and groups from all walks of life, with diverse political views, cultural beliefs, philosophies, and identities. We don't discriminate. We think that creating bridges brings about change. "We welcome everyone."
The foundation, on behalf of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, stated that the decision was taken "out of respect for all of our partners, a responsibility to our donors, and reflecting the values of our Principals."
The note follows an update in Prince Harry's continuing dispute with the UK police about his and his family's security.
The Duke of Sussex had attended two days of judicial procedures in the United Kingdom last week, during which Harry's counsel stated that the royal's "life is at stake."
According to sources, a decision is likely in the coming weeks, and a source close to Harry's legal team stated that they are "cautiously optimistic" about the outcome.
