Prince Harry has once again sparked outrage after making alarming comments about the royal family during his most recent interview.
The Duke of Sussex, who closed up his two-day judicial procedures in London addressing his appeal against the UK Home Office for police protection, made some disturbing assertions about the true reason behind the royal family's downgrade of his security.
In an interview, Harry stated that his security privilege was revoked in order to compel him to remain in the royal family. He also strongly hinted that the Royal and VIP Executive Committee (RAVEC) had targeted him with "inferior treatment" and that only his father, King Charles, could remedy the situation.
Dai Davies, the former chief of Scotland Yard's Royal Protection, chastised Harry for "talking complete nonsense" and called the accusations "bizarre".
Davies stated that Harry has been "given a liaison officer who has access to the most up to date intelligence reports"
"This individual will deal with Harry's personal security personnel, who are quite skilled. The idea that he need 24-hour armed security is absurd, as is the notion that Britain is unsafe for him," he said.
"This new argument he is proposing is simply weird. It was a Ravec decision, plain and simple; nothing to do with the Royal Family."
Furthermore, a high-level insider informed the Mail on Sunday that they are hearing the argument for the first time.
"We don't recall Prince Harry or his lawyers making that argument at the time," they told us. "Remember, the decision to scale back security was discussed at the time with Harry and his lawyers, but nothing like that was said."
The source insisted that it was a "professional decision". While Ravec would have consulted the head of the Royal Family at the time, Queen Elizabeth, the late queen "would not have gotten involved".
According to the insider, "This is an unusual thing for Prince Harry to say now."
The result on Prince Harry's security appeal has yet to be announced following the two-day court session that finished on Wednesday.
