During public birthday festivities on Friday, Queen Mary of Denmark shared a lovely mother-daughter moment with Princess Isabella by gently adjusting her hair.
The breeze had blown a strand of Isabella's hair out of place as the family welcomed well-wishers outside Aarhus City Hall, prompting the Queen's sympathetic gesture.
The poignant picture earned plaudits from RoyaL followers online, with one saying, 'What a wonderful moment between Mary and Isabella.'
The occasion kicked off her milestone festivities, which were attended by her parents, King Frederik X and Queen Mary, as well as her younger siblings, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine, all 14.
Isabella's father plans to present her with the Order of the Elephant in honor of her coming of age.
She is due to wear the renowned medal for the first time in public, at an official event at the Royal Danish Theatre, just before her birthday. A more private event is planned on Easter Monday, when she will turn 18.
