Tom Hardy's new action movie Havoc has received a lot of attention on Netflix since its debut, but many are perplexed by the actor's strange accent.
Gareth Evans, who directed The Raid, has cast Hardy in a brutal action thriller. He portrays a detective who fights his way through the criminal underground to save a politician's estranged son.
The film also stars Luis Guzmán, Jessie Mei Li, and Timothy Olyphant. As Walker delves further, the streets become more dangerous, and the conflicts continue to escalate.
However, in one heated moment, the actor acknowledged that he almost did not make it, noting, "The Medusa fight scene was hot."
"I was dressed in a thermal shirt, a wool shirt, and a T-shirt. "And it was summer."
While the film received mixed reviews, Havoc appears to be a success on Netflix, immediately outperforming other original films such as iHostage and Jewel Thief.
The film continues Hardy's practice of playing parts with accents that some fans struggle to understand.
One fan asked, "Is Tom Hardy trying to pull off a Boston accent in Havoc?"
"I've missed playing. What accent is Tom Hardy going for?" another individual inquired.
"Tom Hardy still has his Bikeriders accent," added a third viewer.
A few laughed: "Tom Hardy's attempt at the American accent will never not be funny."
