Prince William and his wife Kate left for a gorgeous, rural Scottish island on Tuesday to mark their 14th wedding anniversary and embark on their most high-profile joint vacation of the year.
On April 29, 2011, the heir to the throne married Kate Middleton at Westminster Abbey, in a ceremony viewed by millions across the world.
They had met a decade earlier, as undergraduates at the University of St Andrews on Scotland's east coast.
The trip marks the couple's first combined public appearance after Kate received preventive treatment for cancer, for which she is now in remission. They have three children: George, 11, Charlotte, 9, and Louis, 7.
"Scotland is incredibly important to me and will always have a special place in my heart," William, the successor to the title Lord of the Isles, stated in 2021.
During their journey, they will visit the village of Tobermory on Mull, known for its vividly colored buildings overlooking the harbour, as well as a market, food producers, and community centers on the islands to learn about the significance of environmental protection, according to their office.
