Paul Greengrass is directing The Rage, which he hopes will star Andrew Garfield.
According to Deadline, the film is about a peasant insurrection in England in 1381.
Earlier, Matthew McConaughey was said to be in discussions to direct the historical drama.
Further information regarding the Spider-Man star's character reveal that he is modeled on the renowned rebel Wat Tyler, who was murdered in an insurrection against King Richard.
In other news, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is in development, and Andrew has indicated interest in joining the ensemble.
"It would have to be pretty bizarre; I'd like to do something unusual. "Something very unique, offbeat, and unexpected," he told ET.
However, his past comments about returning to the series were more clear.
"For sure, I would 100% come back if it was the right thing, if it's additive to the culture, if there's a great concept or something that hasn't been done before that's unique and odd and exciting and that you can sink your teeth into," Andrew told me.
