The BBC has conceded to a "lapse" in editorial standards over remarks made by Prince Harry in a recent interview.
After the Home Office won Harry's security case in court.
The BBC remarked that Radio 4's Today show neglected to address the Duke of Sussex's assertion that reducing his protection in the United Kingdom was "an establishment stitch-up."
The presenter also observed that Today did not portray the perspective of the Home Office or Buckingham Palace.
Prince Harry also stated that the King may assist with the situation by staying out of the way and allowing the authorities to perform their jobs.
In a statement regarding the interview, the BBC stated: "Claims were repeated that the process had been 'an establishment stitch-up' and we failed to properly challenge this and other allegations."
"This was a lapse in our usual high editorial standards," the BBC explained.
Following the interview, a spokeswoman for Buckingham Palace reacted to Prince Harry's assertions, saying: "All of these issues have been examined repeatedly and meticulously by the courts, with the same conclusion reached on each occasion."
