King Charles and Queen Camilla reveal stunning Coronation Day photographs.

King Charles and Queen Camilla have released their Coronation State Portraits, precisely two years after their coronation on May 6, 2023.

Charles and Camilla paid a visit to the National Gallery, where the King is the Royal Patron, and revealed their new portraits. Their visit also marked the reopening of the Sainsbury Wing, which had been shuttered for two years to complete a transformational project for the National Gallery's 200th anniversary.

When the monarchs arrived at the Sainsbury Wing, the Household Cavalry Band's State Trumpeters played a fanfare for them. Fiona Clare outfitted the Queen in a red wool crepe dress for the special occasion.

The images of the King and Queen depict them in their Robes of State, standing next to their dazzling crowns.

The couple commissioned their own portraits and hired separate painters. Charles commissioned Peter Kuhfeld to paint his picture, while Camilla chose Paul S. Benney. The portraits are currently part of the Royal Collection.

Following the big exhibition at the National Gallery, the new portraits will be shown in the Central Hall until June 5th, when they will be relocated to the Throne Room at Buckingham Palace, where they will be permanently housed.
