Christie Brinkley offers support to ex-Billy Joel during his brain condition

 

Christie Brinkley, Billy Joel's ex-wife, has spoken out about his diagnosis of normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH).

The 71-year-old American model paid tribute to the 76-year-old singer-songwriter and pianist on Instagram, uploading a video of herself and her daughter, Sailor Brinkley Cook, attending one of Joel's concerts.

Brinkley captioned her image, "Dear Billy. The entire Brinkley family is sending you loads of love and best wishes for a complete and rapid recovery."

She said, "I was hunting for lovely images of you and Alexa to send you when I came across this tape from a recent concert. It made me giggle, but it also reminded me of the joy you generate and the spectacular sing-alongs you've led... "You transform an arena of strangers into a living room full of friends as we all sway together."

The star of the Hamptons kept going: "I'm sure I'm speaking for everyone in that room when I say please take good care of yourself, we all want you back in that white hot spotlight, you're OUR piano man."

"And we're always in the mood for your music, and we all hope you're doing well! We love you, the kids, me, and an arena or two!" she said.

Christie Brinkley and Billy Joel met in 1983, and they married two years later in 1985.

Notably, the couple had their only child, daughter Alexa Ray Joel, the same year they married, and divorced in 1994.
