Doris Kearns Goodwin, a Pulitzer Prize-winning biographer, has a former president in mind who she feels is similar to Kevin Costner.
At the Oscar winner's new program on History, The West's promotional event, she compared the Yellowstone star to Theodore Roosevelt, the 26th president.
"If I had to pick a president that reminds me of you, it would be Teddy Roosevelt," says Doris.
The elderly gentleman went on to describe himself: "I mean an adventurer, somebody wanting to test physical skills all the time, in part because he'd been so sickly as a child that he needed to build up his body, but he loved, and he had vitality and energy."
Doris then reflected on the statesman's legacy following her words. "To be a leader, what you need is to understand human nature, and how do you understand human nature but through the great books of poetry and prose."
Kevin agreed with her opinion, saying, "Right, he made time. And someone doesn't believe they have time to read. He made time for reading. 'I don't have time to read': We're dealing with that sort of man. I'm referring to both males and women.
Kevin's The West premieres on May 26.
