Dwayne Johnson takes on a big challenge as he confirms daring new role

 

Dwayne Johnson is preparing to play an exciting new role in his forthcoming production.

Earlier this month, it was revealed that the Moana actor will feature in a new psychological thriller titled Breakthrough.

According to Deadline, the former WWE wrestler is "gearing up to play a life coach, who will charm an alienated young man". However, the coach's attractive nature is really a front for his "morally questionable methods of manipulation and his own concealed darkness".

On May 29, the Fast & Furious star confirmed the position on Instagram, saying he is excited to play such a complicated character.

"I've been very hungry (and grateful) for this kind of challenge," he stated in the description. "The story is a deep dark psychological dive into the culture of motivational 'gurus', and those souls seeking to find their greater purpose in life."

He expressed his delight and excitement for the part, saying, "It's a character I can try to unhinge." "And maybe rip open."

The publication also stated that, while Johnson has been confirmed for the supporting part, major casting decisions, including the lead role, have yet to be made. Furthermore, no director has been assigned to the project as of yet.

Johnson will help with production with actor and writer Zeke Goodman, who has allegedly been selected to handle the script.
