Princess Maria Carolina of Bourbon-Two Sicilies was transported to the hospital following a horrific accident that gravely damaged her, causing alarm among the royal family.

The 21-year-old Italian royal princess, who is the daughter of Prince Carlo, Duke of Castro and Princess Camilla, Duchess of Castro, posted an update on social media on Wednesday, calling the episode "nothing short of a miracle".

She went on to offer her "deepest thanks" to the "outstanding team" at Centre Hospitalier Princesse Grace for their care. She also thanked the emergency medical team and first responders on the scene, stating that their "quick and decisive actions in those early moments made all the difference".

The catastrophe appears to have occurred only days after visiting the Monaco Grand Prix during Memorial Day weekend. Previously, the Italian heiress had visited the Cannes Film Festival.
