Princess Maria Carolina of Bourbon-Two Sicilies was transported to the hospital following a horrific accident that gravely damaged her, causing alarm among the royal family.
The 21-year-old Italian royal princess, who is the daughter of Prince Carlo, Duke of Castro and Princess Camilla, Duchess of Castro, posted an update on social media on Wednesday, calling the episode "nothing short of a miracle".
"I'm really blessed to be alive. I smashed headfirst into a wall while riding a motorcycle and was reanimated in the Intensive Care Unit. Surviving this was nothing short of miraculous," the monarch remarked, accompanied by a carousel of hospital photographs.
"I wanted to share my own experience as I've realized now more than ever that motorcycles are powerful and thrilling but also unforgiving," she says. "Please ride carefully. Wear full protection, including a suitable helmet. "It saved my life.
