Hollywood appears to be gearing up for an epic clash between the two blockbuster franchises, both of which will release new installments on the same day.
The Avengers: Doomsday, which was scheduled to release on May 1, 2026, has now been pushed back until December 18, 2027.
The new Marvel plan coincides with the same release date as Warner Bros.' Dune: Messiah.
Fans turned to social media to express their enthusiasm and excitement for the coming days.
"There's absolutely no way we're getting Avengers: Doomsday and Dune: Messiah on the same day…" moaned a fan.
Another said, "Get ready for 'Dunesday!"
"Avengers Doomsday and Dune Messiah will be released on the same day. What a time to be alive, dude. "Here is #Dunesday," one person remarked.
For those who are unaware, Doomsday's release date has been moved back from 7 May 2027 to 17 December 2027, as has its sequel Avengers: Secret Wars.
