Following Zack Snyder's effort, James Gunn has worked to create a new Superman.
The latest teaser for the next DC picture shows the superhero taking flight, enduring punches, and rescuing mankind in fresh scenes.
In the clip, David Corenswet as Superman depicts the challenge of combining his strength with Earth's politics.
"He's not a man," Lex Luthor, played by Nicholas Hoult, says in the teaser. "He's a 'it' that's somehow become the focal point of the entire world's conversation."
The official trailer and prior teaser appear to communicate the impression that the new Superman is not indestructible, while simultaneously emphasizing his vulnerability.
The film's director, James, has previously hinted that the complete trailer will be released in the following days. "I've been waiting too long to share this with you all!"
Aside from David and Nicholas, the cast features Rachel Brosnahan, Skyler Gisondo, Sara Sampaio, Edi Gathegi, Terence Rosemore, Anthony Carrigan, Isabela Merced, Nathan Fillion, and MarÃa Gabriela de FarÃa.
Superman will be released in theaters throughout the world on July 9, and in the United States on July 11.
