Jennifer Gates has a "deeper appreciation" for her mother, Melinda French Gates, after embracing parenthood.
Speaking with PEOPLE magazine, Bill Gates' 29-year-old daughter, who graduated from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in May, spoke up about motherhood and expressed gratitude to her mother for everything she went through while raising her.
Voicing her emotions, Jennifer said of her mother, "I'm getting to see firsthand just how challenging and rewarding it can be to raise a child, particularly in this current climate, where parents often don't have the supports that they need, and just realizing how many things she was balancing and juggling when she raised us."
She clarified: "Obviously, I have a lot on my plate as well, but I have a deeper appreciation for her as a mom."
Jennifer welcomed her first child, daughter Leila, two, with husband Nayel Nassar in March 2023.
The pair, who married in October 2021, embraced motherhood again when they had their second child, daughter Mia, in October 2024.
In addition to Jennifer, Melinda and Bill, who divorced after 27 years of marriage in 2021, have a son, Rory, 25, and a daughter, Phoebe, 22.
