King Charles spends quality time with 'trusted guards'

 

King Charles and his sister Princess Anne spent quality time with their 'trusted guardians' at Windsor Castle.

Following the event, the palace issued images accompanied by a poignant message from King Charles.

According to the statement, the King, Colonel in Chief of The Household Cavalry, and the Princess Royal, Colonel of The Blues and Royals, were present at Windsor Castle as new standards were presented to The Life Guards and the Blues and Royals.

The queen and Princess Royal attended the Household Cavalry's new Standards Parade at Windsor Castle.

The Standards represent the Cavalry Squadrons' history, achievements, and identity, and are held in high regard.

The Household Cavalry, of which the King is Colonel-in-Chief, consists of the British Army's two most senior regiments: the Life Guards and the Blues and Royals. It is organized into two regiments: Household Cavalry and Household Cavalry Mounted.

The parade was then inspected by the King, The Princess Royal, Colonel of the Blues and Royals, and Lieutenant General Sir Edward Smyth-Osbourne, Colonel of the Life Guards.

The King spoke to troops at the presentation of new standards to the Life Guards, Blues, and Royals.

The palace statement continues with the following: "Since 1660, the soldiers of Household Cavalry have acted as the Monarch's trusted guardians, as well as being the public face of the British Army both at home and abroad."
