One year after Kate Middleton's Photoshop controversy, the royal family issues a disclaimer

 

The Royal Family took an unexpected step by releasing lovely photos of the royal youngsters to commemorate a particular anniversary.

Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine, the youngest children of King Frederik and Queen Mary of Denmark, turned 14 in January, but their photos were published on Friday.

"New official portraits of Their Royal Highnesses Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine have just been released," the Danish royals announced accompanying the lovely portraits of the twins. "It is a practice to generate fresh official pictures of royal family members on a regular basis. The King's House uses these portraits in a variety of official situations.

The message also credited Steen Evald, the photographer, for the photographs.

Before ending the formal statement, the Royal House included a unique disclaimer for the photographs, which had not been revealed in any prior posts by the Danish royal family.

"Only light, color, and contrast are changed, as is customary for official photographs in the Royal House. "The picture's content remains unchanged."

The remark looks to be reminiscent of the British Royal Family's Photoshop issue last year, when the Princess of Wales published a Mother's Day family photo that instantly sparked outrage.

Fans were thrilled to receive a peek of the princess when Kate released the family portrait despite her protracted hiatus from public life. However, things swiftly took a dramatic turn when the Associated Press issued a 'Kill Notice' after discovering the photograph had been 'altered at the source'.

The mother of three later issued a statement revealing that she had been "experimenting with editing."

The cautionary statement comes ahead of Prince William and Kate Middleton's eldest son, Prince George, who will be 12 on July 22, 2025.
