According to tipster Yeux1122 on South Korean blog Naver, Apple's foldable iPhone features a unique sort of display that has never been used in Samsung goods before. This new technology is supposed to meet Apple's intended thickness, power-to-weight ratio, and eliminate internal reflection (translated).
Samsung's display for the foldable iPhone is reported to include an integrated touch sensor. The design option is expected to reduce total thickness by about 19% when compared to the panel used in Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold models. The new display is also said to make the tablet lighter while improving color reproduction and brightness.
According to the source, Samsung's efforts to trim down the Galaxy Z Fold 7 are seen as a strategic move during a transitional period as the business prepares to provide displays to Apple. According to recent reports, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will be the world's thinnest folding smartphone when it launches, measuring only 3.9mm when unfurled and 8.9mm folded.
Apple's first foldable product is expected to arrive next year, possibly in September alongside the iPhone 18 Pro series. It is believed to have a book-style folding design with a 12-inch internal screen. The handset is estimated to be 9.2mm thick when folded and 4.6mm when unfolded. It is expected to have an aluminum alloy central frame. It is anticipated to include a dual back camera arrangement that includes a primary camera and an ultra-wide-angle sensor.
