On Thursday, Whoop revealed two new wearable gadgets, the Whoop 5.0 and the Whoop MG, with better sensors and longer battery life. The new Whoop 5.0 and Whoop MG are said to provide more than 14 days of battery life on a single charge. Meanwhile, the Whoop MG is a medical-grade health monitoring gadget authorized by the US FDA that allows users to capture ECG readings and check blood pressure insights while wearing it on their wrist. These wearables can be worn on many regions of the body.
Whoop 5.0, Whoop MG Features
The new Whoop 5.0 and Whoop MG versions are said to have more than 14 days of battery life on a single charge and are roughly ten times more power efficient than their predecessors. These trackers manage to provide longer battery life within a smaller gadget that is 7% smaller than the Whoop 4.0.
The Whoop 5.0's new sensors can capture health information multiple times per second, and the tracker may now be worn on different places of the body, according to the manufacturer. The medical-grade Whoop MG provides extra health monitoring capabilities, including ECG readings, blood pressure insights, and on-demand detection of atrial fibrillation (AFib).
Users over the age of 18 will have access to a new tool called Healthspan, which monitors their Whoop Age and Pace of Aging to understand how their lifestyle choices affect their lifespan, according to the business. Meanwhile, the new Hormonal Insights tool will provide women with extensive information on menstrual cycles, pregnancy, and associated hormonal swings.
Customers who choose the Whoop Life subscription will have access to the more advanced Whoop MG wearable tracker, which includes a Health Screener function that delivers early AFib alerts. They will also have access to blood pressure insights, which provide estimations of systolic and diastolic ranges throughout the day.
Pricing, plans, and availability for Whoop 5.0 and Whoop MG
Whoop 5.0 is one of two new plans offered by the firm. Customers may choose the Whoop One plan, which costs $199 (approximately Rs. 17,000) per year and includes basic health monitoring capabilities, or the Whoop Peak membership, which costs $239 (about Rs. 20,400) for 12 months. The Peak plan comprises Healthspan, Pace of Ageing, and real-time stress monitoring.
