Taylor Swift reveals new 'TV' album is done—but it's not 'Reputation'

 

Swifties may be experienced sleuths, but Taylor Swift is always one step ahead.

After months of anticipation over her highly anticipated Reputation (Taylor's Version) album, the pop singer shocked her fans with some incredible news on Friday, May 30.

However, it falls well short of fans' expectations.

Swift, 34, said in a message to her fans that she has officially acquired back her entire song collection.

The joyful news comes nearly six years after her repertoire was sold to Scooter Braun, and Swift has been re-recording her albums under the "Taylor's Version" label in an attempt to reclaim control.

Despite the fact that she recently purchased her repertoire, Swift has not ruled out the possibility of further TV albums.

Swift said in her letter that, while Reputation (TV) is far from finished, she is completely finished re-recording her debut album.

"I've already completely re-recorded my entire debut album, and I really love how it sounds now," she said.

This means Taylor Swift (Taylor's Version) is officially finished. But when it comes to Reputation, the singer admits she has been stuck.

"Full transparency: I haven't even re-recorded a quarter of it," she admitted, explaining that she kept "hitting a stopping point" every time she attempted.

"To be perfectly honest, it's the one album in those first 6 that I thought couldn't be improved upon by redoing it," she told me.

Despite the delay, Swift assures supporters that the door remains open. "Those 2 albums can still have their moments to re-emerge when the time is right," she told me.
