AJ McLean of Backstreet Boys has made a heartfelt confession ahead of the release of late vocalist Liam Payne's first posthumous album.
The former One Direction singer will appear in the upcoming Netflix series Building the Band, which will also serve as Payne's first production since his terrible death.
McLean, who collaborated closely with the 31-year-old on the upcoming project, remembered the popstar at Netflix's Tudum event on May 31.
The 47-year-old described working with Liam as a "dream." Meanwhile, he said that the Teardrops vocalist had a number of wonderful songs scheduled for release, which AJ had the opportunity to hear.
He is saddened that the world will no longer be able to hear such recordings.
The star of I Want It That Way told Entertainment Tonight, "I mean, he was an absolute dream to work with, even more talented than I think anybody [realized]."
AJ appreciated Liam's 'brilliant mind' and 'his lyrics', saying, "I got to hear some music that we may never get to hear."
"He was simply so talented, lovely, and genuine. "He was just a light," the American singer stated.
Building the Band is scheduled for release this summer.
