The Duchess of Edinburgh is resuming her solo responsibilities following an important royal visit with her husband, Prince Edward.
Prince Edward and Duchess Sophie recently visited the Inner Hebrides, a group of islands off the west coast of Scotland, to learn more about living in isolated island communities.
As Sophie and Edward return from their holiday, Buckingham Palace has confirmed that Sophie will attend an Afternoon Tea honoring Women of Distinction in the UK on Monday at the Castle Hotel, 18 High Street, Windsor.
The hotel is positioned directly across from Windsor Castle and promises to provide a focal point for the event, which honours remarkable women in a variety of disciplines and their achievements.
Duchess Sophie will meet with the ladies and hear about their job. There is also a speech scheduled from the royal member.
The mother of Lady Louise and Viscount James has taken on a more prominent position in the royal family in the last year, particularly following King Charles' cancer diagnosis in February.
She has been branded the monarchy's "secret weapon" after making multiple solo excursions on behalf of the King, including being the first royal to visit war-torn Ukraine.
According to reports, the King is pleased with his sister-in-law's faithfulness and honors her accordingly with accolades.
