Robert Pattinson's The Batman was a huge hit at the box office in 2022.
Matt Reeves' film stars Pattinson as Bruce Wayne. The film's depiction on Gotham City was more darker, with Colin Farrell playing the villain Penguin and Paul Dano as The Riddler.
Even after the film's debut, its sequel became the most awaited film among DC fans.
The second sequel was originally scheduled to be released in 2026, but it took longer than expected to develop the script, thus James Gunn revealed that the action crime film will now be released on October 1, 2027.
Matt was supposedly working on the script. According to Gunn, there is a potential that they may receive the film's script shortly.
The 58-year-old filmmaker revealed a fresh update while speaking with Entertainment Weekly.
"What Matt's doing is still really important, despite all stories to the contrary" , he stated. He continued, "We're supposed to see that script shortly, and I can't wait" .
In the 2027 film, Robert and Colin will resume their roles as Batman and Penguin.
