James Gunn, the director of the next Superman picture, has announced another exciting project.
Fans of comic books will be thrilled to learn that Gunn has raised the curtain on another major DC world film.
The 58-year-old filmmaker has announced that another Wonder Woman picture is in the works.
"We are working on Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman is being written right now."
Despite this, the starring actress for the future film has yet to be picked.
Gal Gadot previously portrayed the titular character in many films, including Wonder Woman 2017, Justice League, Wonder Woman 1984, and Batman v Superman.
However, another standalone film based on a popular comic book character starring Gal was canceled shortly after James took over the project.
For James, Superman, Supergirl, Batman, and Wonder Woman are the characters who play an important role in the DC franchise.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the Guardians of the Galaxy director noted, "I wouldn't say solely those four characters, but they are really essential to us.
"Right now, I feel great about where two of those characters are, and then we're dealing with the other two."
Meanwhile, Gunn's helmed Superman picture, starring David Corenswet, is due to open on July 11.
