Prince William is returning to work for a cause important to his heart.
Kensington Palace has announced that the Prince of Wales will visit Colorifix on June 19. And he will not be alone.
Cate Blanchett, an Oscar-winning actress and member of the Earthshot Prize Council, will accompany him on his tour.
Colorifix is a pioneering ecological dye firm that has been designated an Earthshot Prize contender for 2023.
Colorifix, founded in 2016, has transformed fabric dyeing by utilizing DNA sequencing to recreate natural hues, reducing hazardous chemicals and water waste. Traditional dyeing procedures waste up to five trillion litres of water each year, while Colorifix's technology significantly minimizes environmental impact by using bacteria to make colors through fermentation.
During their journey, William and Blanchett will tour Colorifix's facilities, seeing every stage of the process, from finding DNA codes in natural species to putting the eco-friendly dye to cloth. They'll also be given a presentation on the technology's extensive environmental benefits, such as reduced energy use and carbon emissions.
The firm currently collaborates with brands like as H&M and Pangaia and operates throughout Europe and India.
