Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's 2018 wedding may have looked to be a picture-perfect ceremony, but royal writers allege there was major behind-the-scenes tension building up to the event.
Tiny Brown, a royal biographer, described the preparations as chaotic in her best-selling book The Palace Papers.
She branded the build-up as a 's*** show,' citing palace insiders who stated that royal workers were overburdened by the Sussexes' incessant requests.
The animosity was apparently centered on two big issues: Meghan's tiara and the bridesmaid gowns.
Meghan reportedly battled with Angela Kelly, the late Queen Elizabeth's personal advisor and wardrobe, for access to the bridal tiara.
Royal author Tom Bower said how Meghan's plea to remove the tiara from storage for her hairdresser's trial was rejected.
According to The Times, following a quarrel, the late Queen intervened and allegedly told Harry, "Meghan cannot have whatever she wants." She receives the tiara that I gave her.
During wedding rehearsals, Harry allegedly grew furious with Kelly again, telling her, "What Meghan wants, Meghan gets."
Following the altercation, Harry and the Queen supposedly met again in private.
According to royal analyst Seward, Lady Elizabeth Anson, the Queen's cousin and close confidante, stated that the queen was angry with Harry's 'high-handed manner' before and after the wedding, most likely referring to the tiara disaster.
Furthermore, problems were alleged to have arisen between Meghan and her soon-to-be sister-in-law Kate Middleton over Princess Charlotte's bridesmaid dress fitting.
