Meghan Markle was reportedly barred from attending a high-stakes royal conference because palace officials suspected she was "smarter" than Prince Harry.
According to Channel 5's new documentary Megxit: Inside the Sandringham Summit, the Duchess of Sussex was barred from attending the now-infamous royal crisis meetings that defined the couple's exit from royal life.
The "Sandringham Summit" was held in early 2020 at Queen Elizabeth's Sandringham home to finalize the conditions of Harry and Meghan's royal leave.
Senior royals including as Charles, Prince William, and the Queen's private secretary were there. Meghan, on the other hand, had returned to Canada to care for her newborn Archie and intended to participate in the conversation remotely. The request was refused.
However, journalist Emily Andrews made a shocking assertion in the documentary: "They all understood that Meghan was definitely sharper, brighter, and had a more linear perspective of where she and Harry were heading... They undoubtedly expected a better outcome with simply Harry."
Meghan addressed the exclusion in the couple's 2022 Netflix docuseries, stating, "Imagine a conversation about the future of your life, and you're not invited to have a seat at the table."
Even some royal insiders admit she had a point. "I sort of agree with her," remarked expert Charlotte Griffiths. Jack Royston remarked, "I have a lot of sympathy for Meghan... having no voice in the room."
Others, like as Richard Kay, emphasized the need of security and secrecy.
He clarified that the senior royals "would have no way of knowing who else would have been in the room with Meghan... making notes."
