Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh, drew great plaudits from royal fans when she joined Prince William to the Royal Cornwall Show on Friday, where the couple represented the monarchy at one of the UK's most important agricultural events.
The 60-year-old princess, who is married to Prince Edward, attended the engagement with her nephew, the Prince of Wales, both of whom are patrons of farming and rural institutions.
Their journey began at the Royal Cornwall Food and Farming Pavilion, where they saw displays from a variety of local food and drink companies from the county.
During the trip, the Duchess and Prince William were seen sipping cider and gin, with the latter resting his hand on his neck and giggling.
Following the visit, social media lighted up with admiration.
'Sophie is a valuable addition to the RF! She works so hard. "It's great to see this aunt and nephew outing," one fan said in response to an official Instagram post about the occasion.
Another added, 'The Duchess is an amazing asset to the Royal Family-so graceful and lovely.' It was a beautiful engagement!
"The Edinburghs and the Waleses are always great together," a third said. A fourth said, 'It's great to see the Prince of Wales and his aunt. I think they have a lot of fun together.
Sophie returned to the Royal Cornwall Show for the first time in a decade, having previously been there in 2014.
