Players must assure Quetta exhibition match participation: Sethi. Najam Sethi, chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) executive committee, has urged all players to participate in an exhibition match in Quetta ahead of the eighth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
The match will be played on February 5th at the Bugti Stadium between Sarfaraz Ahmed's Quetta Gladiators and Babar Azam's Peshawar Zalmi.
Iftikhar Ahmed, Mohammad Hasnain, Naseem Shah, Umar Akmal, and more local players are also on Team Purple. Team yellow has all-rounder Shahid Khan Afridi, Wahab Riaz, Mohammad Haris, Danish Aziz, and Saim Ayub, as well as other local talents.
A few of Pakistani players, however, are competing in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) and are not in the nation. PCB has already requested that they return to the country by early February.
Wahab, Iftikhar, Naseem, Haris, and Saim are all BPL players who have been named to the exhibition teams.
Following the players' doubts about returning from the BPL, Sethi, speaking at a local gathering on Saturday, urged them to uphold the national interest.
"The decision to stage an exhibition match in Quetta was to present a gentle picture of Balochistan which is termed a 'troubled region'. This event is in our national interest, and we must all work together to make it a success," Sethi said, adding that staging a PSL match in Quetta would be impossible.
"Franchises have informed me that some of their players are unwilling to return from the BPL. Several players have demanded that their BPL contracts be completed. But I want to send a strong message: they must return because we need them for our national security.
"It is our contractual right to call our athletes back at any time and from any location. This occurs all throughout the world. "I understand they want to make money by fulfilling their contract, but we need them to fulfil our national interests," Sethi stated again.
The chairman of the management committee also recommended that team owners Nadeem Omar (Quetta Gladiators) and Javed Afridi (Peshawar Zalmi) offer all feasible assistance in hosting a match in Quetta.
"The fans in Quetta are ecstatic about this match. We cannot fail them. "We shall enjoy this match to the utmost," Sethi remarked.
"We urgently want your assistance. "We can't afford any obstacles," he told franchisees.
The exhibition match, which will act as a warm-up for the PSL 8, will take place on February 5, which is also known as Kashmir Day throughout the country.
Tickets for the match will go on sale on January 30 for Rs20 apiece. Ticket sales are available at Bolan Cricket Stadium, Bugti Stadium, Jan Mall, Mariabad (Gulzari Travels), and Airport Road (Almehmood Mart).
