Prince Harry's professional choices concerned King Charles greatly.
In his book, the Duke of Sussex describes an extended talk he had with His Majesty about his future plans after graduating from Eton.
"Have you given any consideration to...the future?" the King, according to Harry, inquired. Yes, indeed. I had, indeed. For years, I'd seriously considered working at the ski resort in Lech am Arlberg, where Mummy used to take us. Such lovely memories. I was particularly interested in working at Mummy's favourite fondue hut in town. That fondue has the potential to alter your life. (I was very enraged.) "
"But now I informed Pa I'd given up the fondue fantasy, and he sighed with relief," he says in 'Spare. Instead, I was drawn to the idea of becoming a ski instructor... Pa stiffened up once again. That is not an option. OK. There is a long delay. What about a safari guide? No, my dear boy."
"This wasn't going to be simple," Harry reflected.
