On Thursday, Bad Bunny astonished his fans by delivering his first-ever address in English at the Billboard Power 100 event.
The Puerto Rican artist, 28, who made personal history by making his first public statement in English, ascended the stage to present a special honour to his longtime manager, Noah Assad.
"I know my man doesn't enjoy this type of stuff, this attention, he doesn't like speeches," Bad Bunny remarked, drawing a round of applause from the audience. "Neither do I, so I'll try to be quick."
"Tonight is a remarkable night, and not only because my friend Noah won this prize. "It's more since this is my first English speech," he laughed. "Tonight is a special night because I'm presenting a special award to someone extremely unique."
Following his English-language introduction, Bad Bunny seamlessly transitioned into speaking both Spanish and English as he honoured Assad.
"This honour means a lot to me, just like I know my own accolades mean a lot to him," he explained. "This honour proves that I am not working alone. It demonstrates that dreams may come true, but never by oneself. It's always about cooperation, and I know no one works as hard as he does."
"I want to thank him for believing in me... for believing in my aspirations and my desire," she says, adding, "Thanks for encouraging me to work harder, dream larger, and simply be a better person."
The remark by Bad Bunny comes only a few days before the 2023 GRAMMY Awards, when he was nominated for Album of the Year for Un Verano Sin Ti.
The artist has made history by being the first all-Spanish album to win a GRAMMY in the award's 65-year history.
