Speaking candidly about his relationship with Camila Cabello, Shawn Mendes makes it clear that they get along well.
The 26-year-old disclosed in an interview that they continue to talk about music and other significant topics.
"I'm nervous just talking about it and what people might say. But really, to this day, she would probably be the first person I call if something were to happen to me or my family," Mendes told The New York Times.
He continued by saying, "Our relationship is teaching me what love means, in a big way."
For the uninitiated, The 27-year-old actress and Mercy singer began dating in 2019 when their sultry single Señorita was released, but they broke up after two years.
They shared a joint statement on Instagram Stories to announce their split.
"Hey guys, we have decided to end our romantic relationship, but our love for each other as human beings is stronger than ever," the message said.
They also agreed to stay closest friends and keep helping one another in the future.
However, according to a close insider who spoke to the tabloid, Camila was the one who finally made the decision to break things off.
In April 2023, Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes were photographed having a good time at Coachella, which fuelled rumors that they might be getting back together.
